Job summary

Work with a successful Global Lab team to deploy and support the applications and lab infrastructure that allows our Engineering team to produce quality open source software. Red Hat's Labs and Capital Management team is looking for an Associate System Administrator to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work to ensure the availability of critical services in many languages, using some of the best tools and procedures in the market. You'll work in fast-paced, changing environments, using a variety of hardware platforms and architectures. As an Associate System Administrator, your primary areas of responsibility will include maintaining the systems and services that the Products and Technologies (PnT) and Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) Lab teams provide. You'll need to have experience managing Linux systems, initiative, passion for technology, outstanding troubleshooting skills, and ideally also the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification, coupled with the ability to deliver exceptional results with minimal oversight.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Respond to engineering requests through the ticketing system
  • Deploy, maintain, and administer hardware and lab infrastructure, including configuration changes and firmware upgrades
  • Communicate with stakeholders to set priorities
  • Integrate hardware into test infrastructure and maintain it
  • Purchase equipment used for testing and development

Required skills

  • Prior experience in computer operations, system administration, or a closely related area
  • Basic knowledge of or experience with Linux or UNIX
  • Ability to lift, carry, squat, and bend with and for up to 75 pounds of equipment
  • Motivated to advance in the information technology field
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
