Job summary

Provide a high level of engagement that builds, maintains, and grows long-lasting customer loyalty by tailoring technical support for customer environments, facilitating collaboration with other vendors, and advocating on their behalf. The Korean Strategic Customer Engagement team is looking for an enterprise-level Java software engineer to join us as a Technical Account Manager for middleware technologies in Seoul, South Korea. In this role, you will be dedicated to customer engagement, serve as a consistent technical point of contact, and cultivate highly personalized support relationships while learning about customer IT infrastructures, internal processes, and overall business needs. You'll help debug, quantify, and test issues escalated by customers for the entire Red Hat JBoss Middleware family of solutions. As a Technical Account Manager, you will also partner closely with associates in our engineering R&D, product management, and technical support teams to resolve issues and build relationships.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Perform technical reviews and share knowledge to identify and prevent issues
  • Gain understanding of technical infrastructures, environments, hardware, and solutions of our customers
  • Perform initial and secondary investigations and respond to online and phone support requests
  • Deliver key Red Hat JBoss Middleware portfolio roadmap updates and assist customers with upgrades
  • Provide advice and guidance to customers about their current and future Red Hat JBoss Middleware solutions
  • Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation
  • Advocate for customers within Red Hat
  • Travel as needed to visit customers

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline; computer science or engineering are a plus
  • 5+ years of professional Java and JEE coding experience in a commercial environment
  • Deep knowledge of the JEE platform
  • Practical experience with the Java application platform and application server technologies like Red Hat JBoss Middleware, IBM WebSphere, and Oracle WebLogic
  • Solid understanding of Java programming APIs and popular Java frameworks
  • Experience with support, development, engineering, or quality assurance
  • Proven ability and willingness to learn new open source middleware technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects while maintaining a high level of detail
  • Ability to effectively manage and grow existing enterprise customer and partner relationships by delivering excellent support
  • Good language skills in English
