    Job summary

    The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a Cloud and DevOps Consultant to join us in the U.K. In this role, you will be responsible for the on-site delivery and implementation of our solutions and offerings for the Professional Services team. You will gain an understanding of clients' cloud needs with a particular focus on OpenShift by Red Hat, making recommendations appropriate to their environment that create possibilities and resolve pain points. We'll need you to have advanced knowledge of and experience with Linux and automation technologies, as well as excellent communication skills.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Routinely assess and implement Red Hat's core service offerings, including OpenShift by Red Hat
    • Assist customers with improving their platform approaches, including increasing automation and working as a 'bridge' between platform and development teams to help onboard application workloads
    • Bring innovative ideas and enthusiasm to the project team while identifying new business opportunities
    • Constantly learn about new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs
    • Implement complex solutions (e.g. system management, cluster and storage, virtualization, and Red Hat Directory Server)

    Required skills

    • Experience with enterprise-wide deployments
    • Advanced knowledge of cloud and cloud automation technologies by Red Hat and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technology including OpenShift by Red Hat, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or similar container management platform technologies

    • Advanced knowledge of system management, clustering and storage management, virtualization, and directory server

    • Knowledge of automation technologies like Ansible Tower by Red Hat, Chef, or Puppet

    • Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse audiences

    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent communication and customer management skills
      Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification, or willingness to complete the certification within 90 days of being hired

    • Knowledge of Linux or Linux kernel internals, including performance tuning experience, troubleshooting, bug fix updates, and core builds, and of cloud-based management and virtualization technologies is a plus
