    Job summary

    Learn about new solutions and technologies and expand your core base of expertise, while traveling to client sites within Japan promoting Red Hat solutions. The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a Senior Consultant with significant experience in JEE to leverage our unique middleware applications capabilities for DevOps, continuous integration, and cloud-based development consulting projects in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you'll play a key role in our clients' evolution in enterprise development and help make our solutions both practical and workable for their businesses. You will lead the on-site implementation of with Red Hat technologies like Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat JBoss Fuse, and OpenShift by Red Hat. You will work to gain an understanding of clients' infrastructure and business needs, make recommendations that resolve pain points, and help them make strategic decisions and their business transformation. You'll then build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Address the client's technical, development, and strategic IT requirements as the main point of contact for Red Hat professional services
    • Track and manage projects including status, issues, and time reporting
    • Consult with clients to work on problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware and software specification and design, implementation, testing, client training, and deployment of open source solutions
    • Use industry practices alongside Red Hat's policies and procedures to solve various problems
    • Analyze data to evaluate key factors in problem solving; make judgment calls to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

    Required skills

    • Excellent technical skills and experience designing and implementing JEE solutions
    • In-depth experience with at least one of the major middleware solutions, preferably Red Hat JBoss Middleware, but experience in Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, WebMethods, Tibco, Corticon, ILog, Mule, etc. is a plus
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and status of key projects to both business-minded and technically savvy audiences
    • Ability and desire to learn new technologies on your own, and apply new concepts to problems
    • Ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team while demonstrating flexibility, autonomy, and initiative
    • Knowledge of Hibernate and Tomcat is an advantage
    • Good project management skills and services management skills
    • Platform or middleware migration project experience
    • Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus
