    Job summary

    The Red Hat Platform Virtualization team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Poland. In this role, you'll help us advance the Container Native Virtualization (CNV) initiative and work on QEMU performance and scaling. You will work in partnership with Libvirt, QEMU, and Kubernetes teams on new Virtualization APIs which abstract QEMU and kernel tuning configurations, among other things.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Contribute enhancements to QEMU, the user-space component for KVM in Red Hat solutions, and related projects in the upstream community project
    • Code, review, test, and provide feedback on community-driven enhancements and bug fixes
    • Conduct performance analysis of both existing and new features
    • Collaborate with the libvirt team on new APIs for tuning configurations for container workloads
    • Contribute to make the Red Hat KVM hypervisor perform optimally and scale

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
    • Solid skills in C programming, with relevant system-level coding experience
    • Performance analysis skills
    • Understanding of open source development processes and practices; active open source contributions are preferred
    • Good understanding of Linux system internals and system-level engineering
    • Knowledge and experience with storage and virtualization technologies is a major plus
