Job summary

Come use your technical experience to help us grow our brand awareness. The Red Hat Vertical Solutions Product Marketing team is looking for an experienced marketing professional to join us as a Principal Product Marketing Manager in producing and implementing the marketing plan for Financial Services team. In this role, you will direct the core messaging, content, and positioning for our success within the Financial Services market. It is an individual contributor role, but tightly integrated into a fast paced collaborative environment working across the entire company. You’ll collaborate very cross functionally and globally with many teams including product management, strategic marketing, partner and alliance marketing, field marketing, sales, and services. This role can be based either in New York City, Raleigh, NC, or Westford, MA in the United States or in any country in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management to ensure marketing plans, align with market directions, and support the product roadmap and releases
  • Create messaging, positioning, and value proposition for our Financial Services solutions
  • Develop messaging around customer challenges, key product and solution benefits, and competitive advantage
  • Direct all content for Financial Services solutions including editorial, thought leadership, and social media content for use in PR, AR, customer, and partner engagement
  • Work with subject matter experts to define requirements for effective marketing assets and content, including white papers, presentations, case studies, solution briefs, Web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be leveraged globally
  • Work with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be leveraged by all relevant partners (including Channel/VARs) for their marketing efforts
  • Work with Marketing team to develop marketing programs
  • Coordinate with various marketing teams including field marketing, corporate marketing, and partner marketing to ensure successful and targeted implementation of various marketing activities including events, webinars, SEM or SEO, Web content, direct mail, and email and themes aimed at Financial Services
  • Define specific market sub-segments (personas, solutions opportunities etc.) within the market, and ensure that the content and marketing plan supports the correct target business opportunity
  • Guide enablement and training activities for sales, pre-sales, professional services, as well as for partners
  • Support customer meetings
  • Coordinate cross-organizational teams, actively ensuring that teams are synchronized concerning messaging, communication, schedules, issues, and other relevant areas

Required skills

  • 10+ years of software industry experience, preferably in the areas of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
  • Deep knowledge of the market including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction
  • Understanding of open source software
  • 6+ years of product marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics, or related area
  • Proven track record of success in a fast moving, technical environment including a proven ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Ability to develop compelling marketing programs and the requisite materials (themes, content, assets) associated with the program
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with a keen ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
  • Solid presenter, and comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
  • Success in working in an influence-driven cross-functional environment
  • Ability to be meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
  • Active, motivated, with a solid work ethic
  • Experience with social media and digital marketing
  • Solid knowledge of content creation following a buyers’ journey
  • Willingness to travel
  • Metrics-focused and detail-oriented
