    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Business Development Manager to represent Red Hat as the vendor of choice into the Finance Sector market in the Asia Pacific (APAC) and Japan region. This will include Finance Sector end users, finance solution providers, Fintech ISVs, and IHVs. In this role, you'll enable and support the local sales teams in APAC across the commercial sales organization, including direct and channel sales teams, to achieve quarterly and annual revenue and growth targets by establishing key sales activities and programmes, and then closely monitoring every aspect of the sales process and ensuring competence, pipeline growth, and sales targets are achieved. As a Business Development Manager, you will also identify various opportunities to develop Red Hat's Finance Sector business in APAC and accelerate the adoption and success of our emerging solutions, including Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure, Red Hat CloudForms, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Storage Server, and OpenShift by Red Hat, and Red Hat's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions suite.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Motivate, coach, and mentor sales team to grow existing accounts and capture new business throughout APAC by developing effective and industry specific sales strategies   
    • Design strategic sales plans through competitive analysis, customer segmentation, and thoughtful product positioning
    • Provide disciplined, ethical, and focused leadership to the Sales team that will foster success based on a culture of respect for customers, associates, and Red Hat values
    • Evangelize and embed a thorough sales qualification and pipeline management process through the development and maintenance of executive and senior-level client relationships at key accounts
    • Play a practical role within the Field Sales team by maintaining a personal presence and being highly visible through direct customer engagements in the field
    • Participate in closing deals at key accounts and promoting business initiatives for future success within the region
    • Coordinate with other business development professionals in other Red Hat regions and corporate headquarters to ensure best practice and shared programmes for the sales engagement process
    • Promote the adoption of Red Hat infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, middleware, and storage technologies within the APAC Finance Sector market
    • Qualify, establish, and maintain high awareness of Red Hat value propositions to all Finance Sector customers and partners within APAC
    • Facilitate and manage reciprocal engagements with partners and customer client teams

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline is required; MBA is preferred
    • Solid understanding and experience in selling in Finance Sector software solutions, preferably with prior experience in the emerging Fintech "transformation" space
    • 10-15 years of solid leadership skills in a technology sales organization (software is highly preferred), with demonstrated business development success in supporting and achieving sales targets and implementing in both direct and channel routes-to-market
    • Successful track record of supporting delivery of annual sales targets in excess of $100M
    • Proven experience developing sales organizations that consistently deliver double digit year-over-year increases in revenue
    • Excellent planning, financial, and analytical skills and proven ability to apply these skills to complex situations with competing priorities
    • Good customer orientation and presentation skills
    • Ability to partner with senior business leaders to understand needs and deliver Financial Sector solutions that meet expectations
    • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and design novel approaches that balance local customer needs with corporate guidelines and philosophies
    • Background in positioning and Technology, Process Change, and Financial solutions and services within the Finance Sector market place
    • Ability to articulate and evangelize the vision and positioning of both Red Hat and open source technology within the Financial Services Sector, and secure long-term customer commitments
    • Experience building and developing successful relationships within Finance Sector, SIs, ISVs, and partners
