    Job summary

    Serve as the front-line catalyst in creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers and partners. The Red Hat India Sales team is looking for a Partner Solutions Architect to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you'll help our customers and partners invest wisely in an infrastructure that gives them maximum flexibility in the future and helps them run faster and more efficiently. You will also work with Red Hat's modern solutions, including Red Hat OpenStack Platform, CloudForms, OpenShift by Red Hat, and Red Hat Virtualization. We will need you to have a good understanding of cloud computing concepts, experience designing, deploying, and operating virtualization infrastructure hardware and software, experience with OpenStack, and solid presentation skills.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop strategic relationships with partners to become a trusted adviser for Red Hat solutions and services
    • Provide presales technical support to Red Hat partners, including technical enablement, solution development, solution porting, benchmarking, implementation road map design, and packaging of complex partner products and solutions
    • Support product evaluations; lead practical technology workshops and limited scope technical proofs of concepts
    • Assist in responding to partner inquiries, including RFPs and RFIs
    • Support development of repeatable partner solution assets
    • Work closely with partner managers and the Channel Sales team to achieve sales and revenue goals

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry
    • 3+ years of experience as a presales engineer, consultant, IT architect, or equivalent role supporting partners and enterprises
    • 3+ years of experience in solutions development or implementation in UNIX or Linux environment, including multiproduct integration
    • 2+ years of experience working with virtualization technologies (vSphere, Xen, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization, Docker, PowerVM, Hyper-V) and cloud technologies like OpenStack (Icehouse or later)
    • Understanding of core networking topology and devices (switches, routers, firewalls, and load-balancers)
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
    • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others to provide the best solution
    • Balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Willingness to travel up to 50%
    • Exposure to Java or Java EE programming or deployment with application servers (Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Weblogic, Websphere, etc.)
    • Basic programming skills and experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Ruby, Python, Java, PHP, Git, Bash, and Powershell
    • Red Hat Certified Solutions Architect (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or ITIL certifications are an advantage
