    Job summary

    The Red Hat Professional Services team is looking for a Platform Consultant to join us in China. In this role, you will perform on-site delivery and implementation of Red Hat’s solutions and offerings. You'll focus on delivering quality work resulting in positive customer experience while building breadth and depth of technical expertise in one or more Red Hat’s technologies. Your goal will be to gain understanding of customer infrastructure and business issues and make recommendations appropriate to each customer's environment. As a Platform Consultant, you will need solid technical and communication skills, experience with enterprise-wide deployments, and a record of successful projects. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Routinely assess, design, and implement Red Hat's core service offerings, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible Tower by Red Hat, etc.
    • Provide written project documentation that can be distributed within Red Hat and customer management teams
    • Ensure timely notification of any deviation of time and expense incurred on a project from the original statement of work (SOW)
    • Bring innovative ideas and enthusiasm to the project team while identifying new business opportunities
    • Demonstrate considerable judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
    • Constantly learn about new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs
    • Produce quality results and provide support to more than one project in multiple industries and various types of projects
    • Manage customer expectations throughout the project
    • Keep stakeholders updated on actual or potential issues that may affect project or company performance (profitability, customer satisfaction, etc.)
    • Explain complex concepts clearly, using terms appropriate for the audience

    Required skills

    • Experience with enterprise-wide deployments
    • Advanced knowledge of Linux kernel, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and containers, including experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and bug fix updates
    • Solid understanding of system management, virtualization, clustering and storage management
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse audiences
    • Excellent communication and customer management skills
    • Solid communication skills in English
    • Solid management skills are a big plus
