Job summary

The Red Hat IT team is looking for a JBoss Data Virt Administrator to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will administer the JBoss Data Virtualization environment, assist the developers to create virtual databases and keep the platform updated with the latest patches. You will have to engage with the Business Intelligence (BI) team across the world and guide them on the best practices on Data Virtualization platform. You'll be part of Data Management Services team which takes care of End-to-End BI platform services. You will provide support to the business users in 24/7 model and assist them with issues related to ETL and BI reporting. You will be working in an environment which is influenced by open source values and solutions. As a JBoss Data Virt Administrator, you will get an opportunity to learn the complete stack of Business Intelligence ecosystem. You'll also contribute to the team's capabilities and deliverables by demonstrating technical competence, personal initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and teamwork while collaborating with local and remote team members, as well as external groups.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Plan and upgrade for Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualization as and when necessary.
  • Migrate code from lower environments to stage and production
  • Monitor and take corrective actions related to performance of Red Hat JBoss Data Virt Environment
  • Work closely with Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualization developers for reporting bugs and enhancements
  • Identify key parameters for monitoring and write scripts to raise alerts
  • Maintain uptime of the servers
  • Assist with integrating Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualization with different data sources across hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Work along with developers and assist them in creating virtual databases (VDB) and Virtuals Data Marts (VDM)
  • Work in a 24/7 model

Required skills

  • Open to learning new technologies in Business Intelligence domain quickly with minimum guidance and accepting to changing directions as technology evolves
  • 4+ years of experience on managing Red Hat JBoss EAP or similar middleware architecture
  • 2+ years of experience on core Java technology
  • 2+ years of experience on Linux server maintenance
  • At least one year of experience on configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible by Red Hat
  • 1 year of experience on any Data Query language, like SQL
  • Good knowledge on using Git, GitHub, or any other Version Management Tool
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Bash scripting
  • Knowledge of OpenShift by Red Hat is a plus
  • Knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
