    Job summary

    The Red Hat IT team is looking for a Database Administrator to join us in Pune or Bangalore, India. In this role, you will administer highly critical databases including disparate MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redshift, RDS. You'll be part of Data Management Services team that takes care of all the production and non-production databases supporting mission critical applications enabling Red Hat. You will also provide support to the business users on a 24/7 basis and assist them. You’ll work in an environment which is influenced by open source values and offerings.     Primary job responsibilities

    • Support and maintain various databases that we have in our environment including MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, RDS; monitor and maintain their uptime
    • Respond to and resolve customer requests within specified SLA related to the data services they need
    • Work in shifts in 24/7 model
    • Create and present health reports of databases regularly and present to the management
    • Administer security  and access related requests coming from business customers
    • Work with support vendors like MongoDB  and take actions as per service requests
    • Migrate code from lower environments to stage and production
    • Add new and maintain existing databases in the environment
    • Work along developers to troubleshoot various issues in database domain
    • Monitor replication process in MongoDB, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL

    Required skills

    • 4+ years of experience in more than one of databases listed here: MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, RDS, Redshift
    • 2+ years of experience maintaining these databases in Linux environment
    • Open to learn new technologies quickly with minimum guidance
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of data querying language like SQL, PSQL, JSON, etc.
    • Knowledge of shell scripting
    • Familiarity with replication (MongoDB, MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL)

    The following will be considered a plus:

    • Red Hat Certified professional
    • Experience with combination of more than 2 database listed above
    • Oracle database experience
    • Pl or SQL experience
