    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Associate Solutions Architect to join us in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will support our rapidly growing sales efforts in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. You’ll be the front-line catalyst creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships between our sales teams and the partner ecosystem. You'll help our customers invest wisely in an infrastructure that gives them maximum flexibility in the future, allowing them to run faster and more efficiently. You’ll need to have a balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, and of deep understanding of business processes and an ability to identify and create business solutions across multiple technology platforms at the enterprise level. As an Associate Solutions Architect, you’ll also need to have excellent communication and people skills because you'll be a crucial part of the first major experience our customers have with Red Hat.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Present application development offerings and technical proposals to potential customers on complex operating systems; design value-driven architectures and explain the application and ROI of these solutions
    • Assist the Sales team with assessing potential application of Red Hat JBoss Middleware and OpenShift by Red Hat solutions to meet customer needs and prepare detailed product specifications
    • Provide follow-­up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications
    • Represent Red Hat to the customer and the customer to Red Hat in sales-related matters

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of Java programming experience
    • 3+ years of JEE programming experience with application servers (Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Oracle WebLogic, IBM Websphere, etc.)
    • Understanding of application architecture (MVC and mode ­2, patterns, JDBC, CVS, build management, etc.)
    • Knowledge of enterprise architecture (UNIX, RDBMS, MOM, LDAP, clustering, etc.)
    • Ability to work with a wide base of hardware platforms and technologies
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
    • Master's degree
    • Proven record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations
    • Ability to present and have technical and business discussions at the C-level
    • Experience coordinating proofs of concept from concept to business closure stages
