Marketing Communications Specialist - Fixed Term 6 Month Contract

The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist for a fixed term contract to join us in North Sydney, Australia. In this role, you’ll assist with the coordination and rollout of various communication activities to create awareness of our company, solutions, and customer success stories. You will be the connector between internal stakeholders and the external agencies and you will work closely with the cross-functional marketing teams like Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Marketing team, Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Demand Center, Corporate Marketing, Sales teams, and Marketing and PR agencies. You’ll need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver exceptional work on messaging, on brand and on time.

• Work with marketing teams, agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders to develop customer reference stories and communication assets
• Manage the communication updates and postings for high-profile corporate events, like Red Hat Summit, Red Hat Forum, and C-Level events
• Work with PR agency, APAC PR manager, and regional country marketing manager to support in-country public relations activities and communication updates to stakeholders and internal teams
• Administer budget and process corporate memberships and related association activities
• Collaborate with teams and manage multiple, simultaneous projects in a timely manner with additional duties to be assigned as required

• 3-5 years of public relations and communication experience, ideally in a multinational technology company
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in public relations, journalism, communication, or similar field
• Experience working with agencies, media, and customers for communication assets and customer reference stories
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Motivated problem solver with the ability to independently manage projects
• Familiarity with marketing tactics, creative processes, and digital marketing
• Ability to work on your own as well as in a project team
