Job summary

Red Hat's Asia Pacific (APAC) cloud and DevOps consulting team is looking for a Senior DevOps Consulting Architect to join our rapidly expanding team in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will serve in a technical leadership role, providing solutions architecture and implementation guidance to strategic customers in Japan. You’ll work closely with regional and global teams, including presales business development teams and broader consulting teams to achieve consulting delivery excellence using a combination of existing and future Red Hat and partner offerings and solutions.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Lead DevOps consulting engagements with a particular focus on integrating Red Hat and partner cloud and DevOps offerings and solutions
  • Assist in the implementation of solutions architecture designs by providing technical leadership to Red Hat’s in-country DevOps-focused consultants
  • Work closely with Red Hat product engineering, business development, consulting, support and sales teams to deliver excellent customer experience
  • Assist in the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s solutions capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and ensure delivery excellence
  • Assist in the scoping and estimation of consulting engagements by working closely with service delivery managers and DevOps partners
  • Contribute to the Red Hat Consulting team by participating in internal initiatives, creating consulting whitepapers and updating the knowledge base
  • Serve as a senior trusted advisor to Red Hat customers and partners and play a key role in helping them develop their technology roadmap
  • Communicate effectively at the C-level regarding open source-based enterprise architectures
  • Participate in Red Hat’s public and private speaking events focused on DevOps
  • Help kick off new projects, inform the implementation team of the project's design, and monitor the progress of projects to ensure they continue to conform to the overall architecture
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior DevOps-focused members of Red Hat’s in-country consulting teams
  • Work with DevOps partner solutions architects across APAC to define repeatable solutions that combine Red Hat and partner technical offerings and solutions
  • Collaborate with the broader regional and global Red Hat teams to map emerging solutions using partner offerings and solutions

Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience working with enterprise customers on a range of development and deployment projects
  • Demonstrated success in a senior technical post-sales or partner-facing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels within organizations
  • Solid working knowledge of web service and microservices architectures
  • Experience architecting, designing, developing, and managing Mode 1 and Mode 2 applications
  • Working knowledge of enterprise portal technologies and concepts
  • Familiarity with enterprise data integration technologies and concepts
  • Familiarity with data grids and caching technologies and concepts
  • Experience with messaging concepts and architectures
  • Demonstrated experience architecting solutions starting from business requirements
  • Working knowledge of at least one continuous integration (CI) server technology
  • Working knowledge of at least one version control software tool
    Solid foundation in agile development methodologies and scrum
  • Passion for open source technologies
  • Good language skills in English
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience using OpenShift by Red Hat is a big plus
