About the job

The Red Hat Ecosystem Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Raanana, Israel. In this role, you will develop and maintain Red Hat Ansible collections. You'll gain an understanding of our partners' infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment to create possibilities and resolve issues. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with partners on various specific initiatives, including architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance of ansible playbooks. You will also support other engineers, associates, and partners in developing best practices and methods.

What you will do

  • Serve as a trusted adviser for Red Hat engineers and project and technical managers to deliver and implement the right solutions for our partners and customers
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, addressing customer technical, development, and IT issues and needs
  • Learn new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs
  • Adapt to changing customer requirements
  • Manage technical problem identification and resolution, support system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
  • Keep stakeholders updated on issues that may affect project or company performance
  • Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions, and handle sensitive conversations in a professional manner

What you will bring

  • Experience developing Python-based applications or related experience
  • knowledge of Ansible (Or similar technologies like Puppet, Terraform).
  • Experience with Linux-based operating systems (RHEL is a plus)
  • Practical experience of developing features against REST and API endpoints
  • Knowledge of automation practices and principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • OpenShift knowledge is a plus
